More than just a style, Afrobreak is a cultural reclamation – a return to the ancestral rhythms that shaped hiphop long before it took root in the Bronx. Through personal stories of other African Hiphop practitioners , dance footage, and community voices, the documentary highlights how movement can be a tool for identity, resistance, and empowerment.

The premiere event will also feature a street art photo exhibition, Afrobreak music album listening, and a live drum & dance showcase β€” celebrating the deep connection between African traditions and global street culture.

Roots of the Culture is produced by Africa Breaking Academy and calls on the world to recognize Africa not only as the origin of rhythm, but as a creative force shaping the future of HipHop.
